Conservativism cannot and will not be contained behind anti-American censorship.

After 14 years at AM 700 KSEV, The Voice of Texas, the Chris Salcedo Show is moving to a network that might be considered new. But the inner workings of Torch Radio are experienced, principled, and determined to win.

KSEV is a rarity and an anomaly. The station has survived so many ups and downs that they are too numerous to list here. But suffice it to say, the little station that could has weathered the ever-changing media landscape, an AM radio band struggling to find its identity without the great Rush Limbaugh, and a pandemic—and is still plugging away.

Out of the 14 great years I have been on the station, I have never been told once what to say, what subjects to cover, or, more importantly, what subjects were verboten. I can’t say that about all of the places I have worked in my nearly 35 years in media and news. The Voice of Texas is unique—from the staff, to the ownership, to the audience.

At this stage in my career, and considering the condition of the nation and our government, it was unfathomable that I could work for a company that wasn’t fully committed to being a true reflection of the American public square, a true devotee of the American principles of debate and dissent, and committed to discussion of the issues confronting our people. I found that company in Torch Radio.

Behind one of the staunchest conservatives and critical thinkers in the constitutional conservative movement, Glenn Beck, Torch Radio will be blessed with a technical and management team that not only knows and loves radio but is committed to excellence in the medium that, in my opinion, is the closest reflection of our nation’s founding principles that exists in media—with perhaps the exception of what Elon Musk is doing with X (Twitter 2.0).

Not only will Torch Radio “go there,” exploring areas where angels fear to tread, but we’ll do so with some of the best talent in the industry, with a mind toward discussing issues that matter to our people, the American people.
